Maheshkhali island is located in the Bay of Bengal, off the coast of Cox's Bazar. It is a common
tourist destination for the tourists visiting Cox's Bazar. The island has a range of low hills
running across the centre and eastern coast. The west and north are low lying areas randomly
covered with mangrove forests. The sandy beaches of Maheshkhali are full of various types of
shells.
Tourists can easily Visit Maheshkhali Island by local trawler or speedboat from Cox’s Bazar
jetty. It takes about half an hour by speed boat or an hour by a trawler. Usually the ride from
Cox's Bazar to Maheshkhali is quite refreshing.
Maheshkhali Buddhist Pagoda:
A Buddhist pagoda also exists in the vicinity of the Adinath’s shrine. Tourists also visit the
pagoda on a regular basis.
