Bangladesh National Museum has eighty-five thousand collections of Bangladesh history. The massive four-story building is not only home. The large exhibition halls are the conservatory laboratory, three auditoriums, library, photographic gallery, temporary exhibition hall and an audio-visual division. The Museum has archaeology, beautiful, decorative and coeval art, history, natural history and world civilization. Amidst the striking collection of paintings, visitors will find ancient relics and items that date back centuries and act as memorabilia to the civilizations that once roamed Bangladesh. The Museum is particularly rich in stone, metal and timber’s sculptures, gold, silver and cup rum coins, in the stone monument and copperplates and in terracotta’s and other art of archaeological interest. The museum has the large collection of arms and armor in Indian Subcontinent. It has large items of natural history and ethnographic interest. The Museum has the huge collection of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin works and other artists.
The National Museum also represents of freedom struggle culminating in the liberation war of Bangladesh and it also a big collection of Bangla language movement Items. Seminars and workshops hosted by the museum, answer many questions in regard to lost worlds and educate the public on the wonderful collections that are preserved with the museum walls.
